Our story
Inner City Club Football Leicester (ICCF) was established in 2003 to create football opportunities for young people living in Highfields and the neighbouring areas. Seeing that there was no structured football available for youngsters, a group of volunteers set up an organisation solely based in the heart of the city.
Since 2003, the club has developed and now runs training sessions for age groups ranging between 5 and 16 year olds. ICCF has an open policy — this club was set up for children that have no club to play for, and for players looking to improve their social and football skills.
Our coaches
Most of the work done by the members of ICCF is voluntary. All coaches are willing to pass on their expertise to help improve the community. They are all passionate about football and have realised there was no structured football for them when they were young, so they wanted to make a change for the youth of today.
ICCF aims to unify diversity across Leicester through football. We are committed to providing quality coaching and education to build up 5–16-year-olds, with integrity and the ability to play football at a competitive level. Encouraging a modern, child-friendly approach to youth football, ICCF fosters a challenging and learning mentality for children and young teens, with coaches putting each child's development needs at the centre.
Where we are heading
ICCF have been supporting a diverse range of football enthusiasts across Leicestershire who are looking to step into coaching, providing a safe learning environment, putting theories into practice with 1:1 mentorship opportunities. We hope to continue this into 2024 onwards on a wider scale.
There are three primary aims for ICCF:
- To create football opportunities for young people living in Leicester.
- To use our training academy to build teams which allow young people to play football at a competitive level.
- To provide a thriving space for young people to explore opportunities in football coaching and refereeing.
ICCF code of conduct
As a club we take code of conduct seriously. The aims of the club are to:
- Offer players the opportunity to participate in football in a safe environment — the club always puts the well-being, safety and enjoyment of each player above everything.
- Always show respect to everyone involved in the game and encourage fair play.
- Improve the fitness, skill and technique of young people in football to a high standard.
- Encourage young people from different communities to break down stereotypes and barriers.

2003
ICCF established.
2004–2007
Successfully ran training sessions across Leicester and took part in numerous tournaments, helping break down barriers across the community.
2008
Winners of 'FMO Youth Awards 2008 Team of the Year'.
Winners of the 'Community K/OUT Cup' held at the YMCA DOME.
2009
ICCF entered the Leicestershire Foxes Sunday League.
Winners of the 'Umbro 5s Under 16 Cup' held at Birmingham Star City Goals.
Winners of the 'Interfaith Tournament' held at Judgemeadow School Leicester.
Winners of the 'Goldhill Tournament' held at Goals Leicester.
Winners of the 'Under 17's Peterborough Active Youth' tournament, raising funds for 'Iqra Academy'.
2010
ICCF starts the Leicester Blind Football Academy (LBA).
Winners of the 'CFA League' held at Judgemeadow.
ICCF winners of the 'FMO Team of the Year Award 2010'.
ICCF took part in the 'Annual UKse7ens' tournament in Newquay.
2011

2016
ICCF enters the Leicestershire and Rutland Youth Futsal League.
2018
ICCF U10s runner up in LRYFL St. George's Park Cup Final.
ICCF U16s runner up in LRYFL St. George's Park Cup Final.
ICCF U16s goalkeeper selected for trial for Loughborough Futsal.
2019
ICCF U12s winners of 'Leicestershire and Rutland Youth Futsal League'.
A number of coaches recognised as Grassroots Volunteer of the Year.
2021
Club coach recognised as Grassroots Volunteer of the Year.
